Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Makes 8- 10 biscuits
2 c bisquick baking mix or the baking mix below
½ c whole milk, cold
1 c extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
¼ c butter
1/2 t dried parsley
½ t garlic powder
1/4 t Italian seasoning
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In a small sauce pan under low heat, add the parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and butter. Melt butter and stir the mix. In a larger bowl mix milk, cheese and baking mix. Stir just until it comes together, and use your hands to shape in to a slightly tighter ball.
If it doesn’t come completely together add ½ -1 t water.
Roll out to ¾ inches and cut with a biscuit cutter. Lightly roll out again and cut again until you have 8 – 10 biscuits. Brush biscuits with butter mixture and bake for 8 – 10 minutes.
Mix in a medium bowl, 2 c flour, 3 t baking powder, 1 ½ t powdered sugar, 1 t salt, 2 T coconut oil or if you want lard. Mix well. Use as you would bisquick. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy.
